WHO WE ARE, OUR STORY AND WHAT WE BELIEVE

SINCE 1988 INNOVATING AND ENABLING GREAT BARBECUE.

“Bom de Brasa” is an expression in portuguese that when used to reffer to a charcoal means something like “this charcoal is good for making a good brazier, hot, homogeneous and durable”, or when used to reffer to a person could mean “this person knows how to make a good barbecue”.


The Bom de Brasa Charcoal Company started operations in 1988 with Marcos E. Matos innovating and pleasing the market by selling high quality 100% natural hardwood lump charcoal in previously weighed and closed packs, in the form of a shelf product, something totally new in the state of Santa Catarina (and probably in Brazil) back then, where charcoal could only be bought in bulk, getting the buyer’s hands and the dealer’s environment dirty.

This innovative movement became the Bom de Brasa Charcoal Company and this story continues to this date, more than 30 years later, with more than 200 direct and indirect collaborators, as well as by business partners that combine tradition and innovation to support the values that are the bases for the company existence, while building new pages of this history.

Developing and delivering smart and accessible solutions, which facilitate relaxing and casualness barbecue moments with family and friends, is the fire motivate us.


Bom de Brasa products are sold in more 1500 dealers in Brazil and 3 other countries, becoming a “1 million kg monthly sold charcoal company”. More products are released every year to complete what we believe is the real Barbecue experience, maintaining the spirit of innovation that started with the company.

Barbecue is also about social and environmental responsibility.

IMA

IMA authorizes companies in the State of Santa Catarina (Brazil) that meet its environmental norms, such as Bom de Brasa, to produce, pack and transport charcoal, firewood and similar natural products.

IBAMA

Federal Enviromental Institue in Brazil that regulates and approves the use of natural resources, with exploration of wood, firewood and forest sub-products for trade, when the company complies with the norms.

FUNDAÇÃO ABRINQ

We support causes that encourage the development of children and adolescents, fighting against child labor. For that reason we were certificated by “Empresa Amiga da Criança” (Child Friendly Company) seal.
