“Bom de Brasa” is an expression in portuguese that when used to reffer to a charcoal means something like “this charcoal is good for making a good brazier, hot, homogeneous and durable”, or when used to reffer to a person could mean “this person knows how to make a good barbecue”.
The Bom de Brasa Charcoal Company started operations in 1988 with Marcos E. Matos innovating and pleasing the market by selling high quality 100% natural hardwood lump charcoal in previously weighed and closed packs, in the form of a shelf product, something totally new in the state of Santa Catarina (and probably in Brazil) back then, where charcoal could only be bought in bulk, getting the buyer’s hands and the dealer’s environment dirty.
This innovative movement became the Bom de Brasa Charcoal Company and this story continues to this date, more than 30 years later, with more than 200 direct and indirect collaborators, as well as by business partners that combine tradition and innovation to support the values that are the bases for the company existence, while building new pages of this history.

Bom de Brasa products are sold in more 1500 dealers in Brazil and 3 other countries, becoming a “1 million kg monthly sold charcoal company”.
